2026 Programs
March – Open Stitch Saturday
- March 21 – Saturday from 10 to 2 (doors open ~9:30)
Come join your fellow Point to Point members for a day of stitching! Instead of our regular 4th Wednesday night meeting, we will meet the previous Saturday, March 21st, from 10am to 2pm, and have a meeting while stitching our own projects. Feel free to bring friend or two! Lunch is $10 deal from DeSimone. Signups will be in the newsletter. Sign up is by March 15th.
We will be meeting at the large clubhouse in the Rancho Del Rey Mobile Home Estates in Huntington Beach.

Students will need: 9″ x 8″ stretcher bars and their choice of red, white, and blue threads. White thread must be strandable.
Threads used on model: Red – DMC 321 floss and #5 peal cotton; White – DMC B5200 floss; Blue DMC 820 floss [2 skeins]
Suggested finishing: Ornament, stand-up, or Frame Weight

“Beach” Bag – Nancy Cucci

Picture to come. Are you familiar with those very cute “It’s So Emma” plaid storage bags, and seen that a neeplepoint or cross stitch design can be stitched on the bag? Nancy is designing a cute “Beach” themed design for our chapter. Each member will supply their own size Large bag. The bags are available from a variety of sources which will be listed in the newsletter.

In 1986, Point to Point sponsored the ANG seminar in Newport Beach. Each stitcher was given a basket and the seminar teachers designed motifs for a basket band, reminiscent of California. The January meeting will include 2 motifs and the title motif with all instructions. There will only be a $10.00 charge for mailing if requested, otherwise this is a no cost program. Other motifs will follow during the remaining months of 2026. Sign up anytime in 2026.
The band can go around a tray or be used as a purse strap, or you can use the individual motifs for ornaments, tags, coasters, bag charms, etc.
Motifs include: CA Sunset, Winery, 19th Hole (golf), Disneyland, Mexican food, road to the mountain, ocean view, mission bell, Hollywood sign, oranges and orange grove.
The largest motif on 18 ct. is 2.7”h x 3.2”w and on 13 ct. it is 3.76”h x 4.5”w. For basket band -18 ct., cut canvas 5 1/2” wide. If the length of your basket is more than 40”, you may need to make two joining seams, add 2-3 inches for length.
